CIRA started with one primary school for girls in 1992, through a sound business model based on offering affordable yet quality education regardless of the tuition bracket and a vision to serve Egypt's educational needs, CIRA now has a lucrative operation of 19 schools spanning Cairo, Suez, Hurghada, Dahab, and Marsa Alam, with another 6 schools under construction in Cairo, Assuit, Menya, and Alexandria that are scheduled to open 2011-2013. CIRA has achieved some diversification by acquiring stakes in other companies: including one that operates in educational management and others in non-educational sectors which complement the core educational activities – such as construction, technology and software development, facilities management, and transportation.
